IN THESE SHOES? studio album …

Taking its title from one of my all time favourite Kirsty MacColl songs, my album In These Shoes? consists of 10 tracks from Kirsty′s catalogue plus The Pogues′ Christmas classic on which Kirsty featured, all interpreted, played and sung by myself and a fabulous bunch of professional musicians.  I started with a short-list of 40 of Kirsty′s songs which, with the help of some fellow Kirsty Fans, I whittled down to 21.  From these 11 songs were selected and studio produced by the lovely Nigel Pegrum and me for this album – for the remaining 10 songs see the page for Soho Square.  P.S. I added a Karen J White song Shoes, yes an original, to In These Shoes? – have a listen for the ′Kirsty′ reference!  The song originally appeared on my first studio album By Request, refreshed here with new vocals.

My personal tribute to the life and musical legacy of Kirsty MacColl.

I have ″forever″ been a great fan and follower of the late, great Kirsty MacColl and indeed include some 50 of her songs in my repertoire.  In part leading on from my regularly attending the annual ″Kirstyfest″ in Soho Square, London (a celebration of her life and her music) since my first time in 2013 and with encouragement from a few close friends and my fella I have decided that my next show will be a tribute to Kirsty MacColl showcasing a show′s worth of her songs.  It will be themed as my show delivering my interpretation of her great music as opposed to forming a tribute band.  Having selected a draft play-list for the show the next stage was to produce albums of most of those songs – this is the first of two.

I hope you enjoy the sample clips below and that you like them enough to support independant artists like me and either order actual album CDs direct from me (in person, by phone, by email or via this website) or download them from my online download shop with Nimbit Music (my download shop).

BUYING your personal copy of my music …

All of the music I produce is properly licensed so that those who've done the original work are fairly paid, as they should be.  I make my recorded music available to buy both in hard copy form (CD) and in WAV & MP3 digital format (download).  Most of what you pay covers royalties and production costs.  Without people buying copies of my recorded music, as with all musicians who record music, recording will cease.  So not only does it help my ego when people buy my recorded music but it helps me continue to create further recordings!

To help keep my operating costs down I use PayPal as my payment merchant and the added bonus of doing so enables me to sell in multiple currencies and ensure maximun online payment security.  Importantly buyers using PayPal do not have to have a PayPal account and PayPal accepts most major credit cards in most currencies.  Similarly I use NimbitMusic, who also use PayPal, for my online download store.  Transactions via PayPay will show on your statement as ″AXIO …″
